The mystery death of a middle-aged woman in Market Harborough is being treated as “unexplained but not suspicious” by police.

An investigation has been launched after Harborough police officers were called to a flat in the Welland Quarter in St Mary’s Road, Market Harborough, at 6.31pm on Saturday May 23.

The alarm was raised after the body of a woman, who has not been named, was found there.

“The death of the woman, who was in her 50s, is currently being treated as unexplained but not suspicious,” said Leicestershire Police.

“A file is being prepared for HM Coroner and identification is a matter for HM Coroner.”
