Market Harborough says farewell to popular rector

Popular Market Harborough rector the Reverend Canon Richard Brand is leaving the town after almost 10 years.

He held his last service in St Dionysius Church last Sunday. Nearly 300 people attended the service, which was followed by a presentation and lunch.

Richard leaves to become Archdeacon of Winchester Cathedral, where he will be in charge of 195 churches.

Chris Etherington, the Harborough Anglican team administrator, presented the Rev. Brand with a small bronze replica of the statue of the Risen Christ, which stands outside Launde Abbey.

Chris said: “Richard, having you as our Rector has enhanced our lives and we will miss you enormously.”
