Man rescued by firefighters in a Harborough district village after he was trapped under a car


A man was rescued by firefighters in a Harborough village after ending up trapped under a car.
Fire crews from Wigston and Leicester’s Central Station raced to the incident in Chestnut Drive, Great Glen, on Friday night (August 7).

Hide AdPolice officers and East Midlands Ambulance Service also went to the scene after police received the initial 999 call reporting a “road traffic collision” just after 9pm.
Firefighters deployed special air bags to free the trapped man from underneath the motor.
“Adult male released from under the vehicle using air bags.
“Casualty appeared unharmed but will go to hospital to be checked,” said Leicestershire Fire and Rescue Service.
But police said the incident turned out to be not as it was originally reported.

Hide Ad“Police received a call at 9.03pm on Friday (7 August) reporting that a man had fallen under a car in Chestnut Drive, Great Glen.
“Officers attended and East Midlands Ambulance Service and Leicestershire Fire and Rescue Service were also called,” said Leicestershire Police.
“From initial enquiries carried out at the scene, it was established the incident was not as reported.
“No collision had occurred.
"The man was taken to hospital as a precaution but had not suffered any injuries in relation to the incident reported.”
