Lutterworth College celebrates its best ever A-level results

Students and staff at Lutterworth College were today (Thursday) celebrating its best ever A and AS-level results.

Many students gained the top grades at A-level - 99% of students gained pass grades, with 52% achieving A*-B and 75% of all grades A*-C

Star students who gained four A-levels included: Katie Mahon (A*A*A*A) going to Bristol to study mathematics; Lucie Rostron (A*A*A*A) going to Durham to study mathematics; Robert Smith (A*A*AA) going to Nottingham to study mechanical engineering; Alistair Kirtley (AABB) going to Bristol to study mathematics and physics; Aaron Fretter (A*ABB) going to Warwick to study accounting & finance; Alex Gregory (AABB) going to York to study natural sciences; Nathan Lawson (A*AAB) going to Sheffield to study history

Many subjects achieved particularly strong results: 90% of all results in government and politics at B grade and above; 64% of all results were A grades in futher mathematics, with one in three students gaining an A* grade; One in three students gained an A grade in drama with 100% of grades being A*-C; 100% of all results were B grade or above in French; Over 55% of all results were B grade and above in PE, history, chemistry and mathematics; Over 65% of all results were B grade or above in religious studies, sociology, media studies and textiles

Over 85% of all results were C grade or above in business studies, history, economics, sociology and food technology

In English Literature 75% of all results were a ‘C’ grade or above while 100% of all results were A*-C in engineering, philosophy, French, drama, food. 100% of all results were distinction* in BTEC performing arts (dance) and 88% of all results were distinction* or distinction for BTEC sports studies.
