Injured driver cut free from wrecked van after crash near Harborough

Emergency services raced to the scene after the van collided with a box van on the busy road’s eastbound carriageway, close to junction 1, near Welford at about 7.30am.

An injured driver was cut free from his wrecked van by firefighters after a two-vehicle crash on the A14 this morning (Monday).

Emergency services raced to the scene after the van collided with a box van on the busy road’s eastbound carriageway, close to junction 1, near Welford at about 7.30am.

The trapped van driver was freed by firefighters and is thought to have been taken to hospital but he was not seriously injured.

Rush-hour early morning traffic quickly backed up as the road was shut while firefighters from Kettering and Rugby as well as police and ambulances attended the accident.
