Harborugh district village is named as one of the best villages in Britain
A Harborough district village has been named in a national newspaper as one of the top 20 '˜best villages in Britain'.
Not a bad achievement, as there around 5,000 villages in the UK.
The honoured village is Hallaton, about 10 miles north-west of Market Harborough, named in an un-scientific but very well-read article in The Times newspaper on Monday.
In the Times article Hallaton is praised for its “thriving primary school, popular church, tearooms, pubs and village hall”.
The article says the average price for a village house is £449,000.
