Harborough's first gin bar opens

Gin & Fizz, which is located above The Waterfront at the canal basin off Leicester Road, will be stocking award winning speciality gins supplied by Leicestershire based gin makers Burleighs.

Owner Stephanie Hamblin, who also operates The Waterfront and Foxton Locks Inn, said: “We are very excited to be bringing the first gin bar to the town.

“Gin has become a hugely popular and hip drink over the past couple of years, and there is a real demand for high quality gin based drinks. We are also delighted to be stocking Burleighs Gin, which is made nearby and is a brand highly respected by gin connoisseurs.”

The bar, which has been recently refurbished, will be open Wednesday to Saturday evenings from 5pm.

Stephanie added: “Gin & Fizz complements The Waterfront perfectly; people can come for an aperitif or a nightcap after their meal, as well as just popping in for a drink.”

The bar is the latest addition to the range of businesses at the canal basin and overlooks the boat moorings. The basin is popular with boaters, dog walkers and visitors.
