The Rotary Club of Lutterworth Wycliffe uncovered the true spirit of Christmas with their annual pre-Christmas charity raffle this year.

The raffle winner turned down the Waitrose trolley dash first prize, saying “others need the food more then me”. He then donated his winning ticket to the Lutterworth Food Bank.

Instead of the usual three-minute trolley dash, Food Bank representatives visited Waitrose and filled their trolleys with £300 worth of urgently needed provisions.

The Rotary Club’s Nigel Bones said: “Both the Food Bank and the Rotary Club of Lutterworth Wycliffe would like to sincerely thank the generosity of the donor (who wishes to remain anonymous) for demonstrating the true spirit of Christmas at this time of goodwill.”
