Two 15-year-old boys have been charged by police after a teenager was stabbed in a Harborough village park last summer.

The 18-year-old victim was rushed by ambulance to Coventry and Walsgrave General Hospital following the late afternoon attack in Edward Road play park in Fleckney on August 20.

The two boys, who cannot be named for legal reasons, are accused of wounding with intent to cause actual bodily harm.

One of the schoolboys is also charged with attempted robbery and having an offensive weapon in a public place.

Both boys are now set to appear in court later this year.

The seriously-injured victim suffered multiple stab wounds after he was attacked in the popular village park in Fleckney just before 6pm.

He was released from hospital a few days later after receiving urgent medical treatment.
