Three teenagers robbed at knifepoint in Harborough

A knifeman and his accomplice are being hunted by police after they robbed three teenagers in Market Harborough yesterday evening (Monday).

The two muggers targeted their three victims – two males and a female – at knifepoint at about 4.45pm yesterday as the friends sat on a bench in Sherrard Park, off Ridgeway West.

The three victims were ordered to hand over any items they had by one of the robbers, who was reported to be holding a knife.

The 18-year-old man handed over his wallet before the criminals also stole a bag he was carrying before making off on foot into the town.

“None of the group were injured during the incident.

“Both men were white and wearing dark clothing with balaclavas,” said Leicestershire Police.

“They spoke with local accents.”

Police in Market Harborough are now appealing for anyone with dashcam, doorbell or CCTV footage of the frightening incident to come forward.

Sgt Pete Jelbert, who’s based at Market Harborough police station, said: “We are particularly keen to speak to anyone who was in Sherrard Park, or saw two men leaving the area, between 4.30pm and 5pm yesterday (Monday).

“Did you see anyone acting in a manner that seemed unusual or aroused suspicion?”

He added: “I would like to speak to anyone who has a doorbell camera or CCTV at their address.

“Likewise, I would also ask anyone with a dashcam in their vehicle to come forward.
