Thieves who stole a 'substantial amount of goods' from a lorry parked up near Lutterworth under cover of darkness are being hunted by police.

The gang ripped open the curtain-sider truck after the driver parked up in a layby on the A4304 Lutterworth Road near Walcote for the night.

The criminals struck between 8pm on Wednesday February 17 and 6am on Thursday February 18, said Leicestershire Police.

“A substantial amount of goods, including parts for Tesla cookers, were stolen,” said police.

Det Con Nick Cox said: “We would like to hear from anyone who has dashcam footage from the area on the night of the incident.

“Or anyone who may have driven along Lutterworth Road that night and might have seen anything suspicious.”
