Thieves break into animal hospital near Harborough and steal badger cub

Thieves have broken into an animal hospital near Harborough and stolen a badger cub.

A fundraising page has also been set up to pay for the repairs to the cage after the burglars broke into the Leicestershire Wildlife Hospital in Kibworth during the night on Monday July 19.

Staff said they are 'extremely saddened' and that they are 'praying for her return'.

They added: "We would like to ask if anybody had seen anyone in the area (particularly Mill Lane in Kibworth) on or around that night that was acting suspiciously or carrying any equipment, to please let us know.

"In particular, we know that wire cutters were used to get into the enclosure. You can message us directly through Facebook if you have any information surrounding this.

"We are praying that we can find her."

The hospital is currently looking at its CCTV footage to see if they can catch the offenders.
