A thief stole goods worth over £1,300 from two town centre shops in Market Harborough.

Owen Palmer, 33, took items worth more than £1,000 from Superdrug on The Square, a court heard.

He targeted the store three times in just 11 days last August.

Palmer, of Gooding Avenue, Leicester, also stole products worth over £100 from the nearby Tesco store in November.

He admitted six charges of theft and three charges of possessing class A drugs at Leicester magistrates’ court.

Palmer is now due to be sentenced next month.
