Scores of farmers and business owners across Harborough are being warned not to touch a scam email – allegedly from the Health and Safety Executive.

They are being targeted by the scammers who say HSE inspectors are to visit their premises to carry out a spot-check to make sure they are Covid-19 secure.

The local authority is working with the HSE to conduct checks at businesses throughout Harborough.

But the visits are unannounced and employers would never be contacted like this.

Farmers are also being warned by the National Farmers’ Union to treat this email as a scam and to delete it straight away.
