Schoolboy set to go on trial accused of attempted robbery at knifepoint in Kibworth
Another teenager was injured in the incident
A schoolboy is to go on trial accused of an attempted robbery at knifepoint in a Harborough village after another teenager was injured.
The 15-year-old boy, who cannot be named for legal reasons, is facing trial after the incident in Kibworth Beauchamp last month.
The teenager denied two charges of assault by beating and one of possessing a knife in a public place at Leicester magistrates’ court.
He was charged after trouble flared between youths on a footpath over the railway line, known locally as the Tin Bridge, near Warwick Park, on Saturday February 6.
A 17-year-old boy injured in the fracas was taken to hospital to be treated for cuts to his thumb and elbow.
The accused teenager has been bailed.
He has been instructed not to go into Kibworth and obey a curfew at his home between 7pm and 7am daily.
