Police have raided a “large scale cannabis factory” in a Harborough village as they arrested two suspects.

Officers found over 100 cannabis plants at an industrial unit at Walton New Road Business Park in Bruntingthorpe, near Lutterworth, just after 11.30am on Monday (November 2).

They swooped on the site after being tipped off by suspicious villagers.

Two men aged 55 and 32, both of Bedford, were arrested on suspicion of cultivation of cannabis.

“They have both since been released under investigation.

“Enquiries remain ongoing,” said Leicestershire Police.

Harborough police tweeted: “Another busy day, the proactive team, working off community intel, (intelligence) found a large scale cannabis factory near Bruntingthorpe, over 100 plants.

“Two persons arrested and were interviewed by CID.”
