A man of 40 has been remanded in custody after a policeman was injured in an incident involving an “air weapon” in Desborough.

The officer was hurt after police were called to the incident at Neuville Way, Desborough, at about 5.20pm on Friday November 20.

He was alledgely assaulted and had to be taken to Kettering General Hospital for urgent treatment.

Marshall John Coe, of Neuville Way, was arrested at the scene.

He has been charged with wounding with intent and possession of an air weapon with intent to cause fear of violence.

Magistrates remanded Coe in custody to appear at Northampton Crown Court on Wednesday December 16.
