Police were called out to deal with two men “behaving in a threatening manner” outside a busy Market Harborough pub.

The incident happened just feet away from the Freemasons Arms on St Mary’s Road, Market Harborough, just before 9pm on Saturday night.

Officers based at the town’s police station on Fairfield Road went to tackle the alleged flare-up.

But the two men involved had fled by the time they turned up.

“Shortly before 9pm on Saturday (29 August) officers were called to a premises in St Mary’s Road after two men were reported as behaving in a threatening manner outside the property.

“Officers attended the location,” said a Leicestershire Police spokeswoman.

“The men had left the area.

“No crimes were recorded as having taken place.”
