Police are tracking down a red car after the driver was suspected of “paying interest in a dog” in Market Harborough over the weekend.
Officers have launched an investigation into the “suspicious incident” in the town after being tipped off by a worried member of the public on Saturday.
“We received a report of a suspicious incident involving a red car in Market Harborough, possibly paying interest in a dog.
“We’re investigating and have found the correct registration of the vehicle,” said Harborough police.
“Please report anything suspicious to us so we can check.”
The incident comes after a mini-spree of dog thefts across Harborough and throughout Leicestershire in January and February.
