Man near Harborough fined for racially abusing woman

A 65-year-old man from a village near Market Harborough has admitted in court racially abusing a woman.

Nigel Gardner, of School Lane, Naseby, targeted his victim in Naseby on September 7, 2021, Northampton magistrates’ court heard.

He admitted carrying out the offence “with intent to cause a woman harassment, alarm or distress used threatening, abusive or insulting words or behaviour or disorderly behaviour and the offence was racially aggravated”.

Gardner was fined £360 and ordered to pay £50 compensation, £85 costs and a victim surcharge of £36.
