A man is due to appear at court today (Wednesday) accused of serious driving offences after a police car was rammed in Lutterworth.

Ashley Challis, 31, of Leicester, has been charged with driving while disqualified, driving while over the prescribed limit and aggravated taking of a conveyance.

He is set to be taken before Leicester magistrates’ court this afternoon following the incident.

Challis was arrested and charged after a driver failed to stop for police officers in Lutterworth on Monday (January 11).
