A huge pile of rubbish dumped on the outskirts of Market Harborough was being cleared up today (Tuesday).

The mound of household waste was piled up by the flytippers on Langton Road, Great Bowden, over the weekend.

Tipped in a pretty leafy lane, the eyesore was made up of domestic garbage, electrical goods, crates, plastic and an artificial Christmas tree.

Harborough District Council was drafting in a special crew to clear up the blot on the local landscape today.

Council investigators are also sifting through the rubbish in an attempt to identify and track down the flytippers.
