Police attempted to stop the black people carrier for “traffic-related matters”.
But the driver “clipped the wing mirror” of the police car as they sped off from the scene.
The vehicle, which has rear blacked-out windows, was later found abandoned nearby and has now been recovered as an investigation is launched.
“No injuries were reported,” said Leicestershire Police.
“Enquiries are ongoing.”
