A disqualified driver gave police a fake name when he was stopped in Lutterworth - but he was caught out when police scanned his fingerprints.

The vehicle was stop checked on Leicester Road by Lutterworth Police tonight (Thursday).

But the banned driver tried to get away with his offences by lying to the police about his identity

"Fingerprint scanner used at the scene revealed his true details and the fact he was a disqualified driver," said a police spokesperson.

His car has been seized by police.

Officers also seized another car near Fleckney today - the driver had no insurance and was disqualified from driving.

Police said the offender had a long back back to their home in Leicester Forest East.
