The stretch of Coventry Road leading off the High Street to the turn-off to the Commons car park by the Co-op store was closed early on Tuesday morning due to a water leak.

A Severn Trent Water works team backed up by diggers were drafted in to carry out emergency repairs to the leaking pipe outside the Baptist Church on Coventry Road.

A Severn Trent spokesman apologised to drivers for the “inconvenience” caused by the three-day road closure.
