Air ambulance called to the scene of a motorcycle crash on the edge of the Harborough district

An air ambulance helicopter was scrambled after a motorcyclist crashed in the north of Harborough district.

The regional air ambulance was called out after the casualty, who was in his 50s, was injured in the single-vehicle incident on Easter Sunday afternoon.

Police also dashed to the scene in Medbourne Road, Stockerston, near Uppingham, following the accident at 1.45pm.

The motorcyclist was taken to hospital by land ambulance.

The man’s injuries were “not believed to be life-threatening or life-changing”, said Leicestershire Police today.

In a separate incident on Saturday, a car left the road and ended up in a ditch against a hedge near Bruntingthorpe.

The driver was not injured.

A police spokesperson said: "Please take care on the roads and stay safe."
