Fancy tucking into a cream tea at an historic Harborough church – and going on a guided tour?

You’ll be able to enjoy a cuppa and a nibble at St Peter’s Church in Church Langton from Sunday June 27.

Cream teas are being laid on from 3pm-5pm in the church’s Community Hall every Sunday afternoon (fingers crossed) until the end of September.

“The church will be open - but to provide toilets and handwashing facilities the teas will be held in the community hall,” said a spokesperson for the church.

“Home-made cakes and scones will be available for purchase as well as plants and produce.”

And you can find out much more about the village’s place of worship as guided tours of St Peter’s are being staged at 2pm on Sunday July 4 and Sunday July 18.

The events are going ahead as part of the month-long Festival of Archaeology in Leicestershire and Rutland.

Adults will be charged £4 while children go free.
