Scores of people were tested for Covid-19 in Lutterworth on Saturday.

People, including children, turned up from all over the area to be vetted for the coronavirus at the mobile testing unit at Lutterworth Leisure Centre on Coventry Road.

They braved torrential rain, high winds and plunging temperatures to be tested by army servicemen and women after booking definite appointments.

Almost 1,000 people have already been tested for Covid-19 at two mobile centres in Market Harborough, it’s emerged.

Some 455 people were examined at a three-day drive-through mobile unit on the Commons car park last week.

And 495 were tested in the car park at Harborough Leisure Centre last month.
