Over 10,500 people have now had a coronavirus vaccination at a busy surgery in the middle of Market Harborough.

Patients from both the town and surrounding villages have received at least one Covid-19 dose at Market Harborough Medical Centre on Coventry Road.

More than 1,200 people were vaccinated at the medical hub last week alone.

And the Covid vaccination programme is going so well and proving so successful that patients aged over 60 are now set to get their injection there this weekend.

The news comes as it’s emerged that over 250,000 people have now had a Covid-19 vaccination right across Leicester, Leicestershire and Rutland.

Some 56,000 patients have been jabbed throughout the region in the last seven days alone.

And over 168,000 jabs have also been given to people in Northamptonshire.

Everyone aged over 65 is now being urged to come forward to be vaccinated against the coronavirus in Leicestershire.
