"I’m confident we will get through this pandemic but it is down to all of us to follow the rules' - county council's message to Harborough residents

The leader of Leicestershire County Council is urging people across Harborough to unite to beat the coronavirus as a new national lockdown is set to be imposed.

Cllr Nick Rushton has spoken out as the new anti-Covid-19 crackdown will come into force across the UK on Thursday November 5.

“We’re now working through what the national announcement means.

“We want to assess the full impact on services which are vital to residents.

"I know this is a worrying time for people.

“And supporting our residents through these continuing times of difficulty remains our absolute priority,” Cllr Rushton told the Harborough Mail.

"I’m confident we will get through this.

“But it is down to all of us to follow the rules and drive down infection rates across the county.”
