Figures show the Harborough areas with the highest percentage of deaths due to Covid - one year on since the first lockdown

It has nearly been a whole year since we all went into the first national lockdown - and what a tough 12 months it has been for everyone in the Harborough district.

We have published many figures over that time, showing both the rise and decline of Covid-19 cases, as well as the steady increase of vaccinations.

Sadly, we have also published the data on people who died due to the virus.

This week's latest data shows the percentage of deaths across the Harborough district caused by Covid-19 registered between between March 2020 and February 2021.

This gives a better reflection of how each area has been hit by the pandemic.

Overall, 13.73 per cent of deaths across the Harborough district were due to Covid-19 (145 of the overall 1,056 registered deaths were due to Covid, according to the official figures).

The ward with the highest percentage of deaths from Covid-19 is the area of Houghton, Thurnby and Scraptoft, where 22 per cent of deaths were due to Covid-19.

The lowest was Fleckney, Kilworth and Foxton, where six per cent of deaths were due to Covid.
