Cllr Ivan Ould, cabinet member for children and young people, said: “Most parents come along and say they didn’t know what to expect, but have found the advice invaluable.

“For many families, finding out what support is available locally and within their school can be daunting and a friendly face is really helpful.”

Karen Hall, one of the council’s family workers organising the event, said: “Many families talk to us about feeling swamped and not knowing where to start.

“Our roadshows can be a great way to navigate through lots of information.”
