More than £1million put aside to help primary schools in the Harborough area

The huge cash sum is being invested by Learn Academies Trust after the group was handed £1.1million by the Government’s Condition Improvement Fund (CIF).

The money will bankroll the following major schemes:

· Heating system improvement works and fire upgrades at Market Harborough C of E Primary Academy on Fairfield Road

· Fire safety upgrade works at Ridgeway Primary Academy (Market Harborough)

· Upgrade works to a classroom and roofing improvements at Church Langton CE Primary School

· Heating system improvement works at St Andrew's CE Primary School, North Kilworth

· Upgrades to external doors at Meadowdale Primary Academy on Meadowdale Road, Market Harborough

· New perimeter fencing at South Kilworth C of E Primary School, near Lutterworth.

“The CIF programme is an annual round of grant funding through which academy schools and colleges can apply for investment in the upkeep and improvement of their buildings and to fund expansion projects for schools that have been rated good or outstanding by Ofsted,” said the Learn Academies Trust.

Trust leader Stef Edwards said: “Winning a CIF bid is always fantastic news and we are very pleased to be able to make these significant improvements to our trust’s school buildings.
