More than 90 per cent of children have got a place at their first-choice primary school in Leicestershire
Over 90 per cent of children have got a place at their first-choice primary school in Leicestershire.
New figures show 92.4 per cent of kids will go to their preferred school – an increase of 2.1 per cent on last year’s figure.
Over 7,600 applications have been received this year.
That’s an increase of 0.33 per cent compared to 2019.

Hide AdSome 98 per cent of pupils have been given one of their preferred options – with 4.7 per cent securing their second choice and 0.88 per cent their third.
Parents and carers are now being notified by Leicestershire County Council.
Cllr Ivan Ould, the council’s cabinet member for children and families, said: “We’re very pleased with these figures which remain encouraging, particularly with the increase in applications we received this year.
“We’d like to assure parents and carers that we are also here to help and support them through this process.
