“I was there almost all day and it couldn’t have gone any better.

“We had at least 120 kids turn out and take part along with so many mums and dads.

“The sun shone and it stayed dry, the weather was spot on.

“The day kicked off with a stretch and flex session at 9am and it all hurtled along from there on,” said Kevin, who sits on both councils as well as being a county councillor.

“I’ve never seen so many smiles on kids’ faces as they really got into their special coaching classes all day.

“The whole day really brought our community together – it was such a positive day socially as well as getting both children and adults active.”

The non-stop mix of sports and other high-energy pastimes and pursuits was ran by Corby-based Fiesta Sports Coaching.

“They did a fantastic job.

“We’ve managed to stage this from start to finish in just the last few weeks – and it was a massive success,” said Kevin.

“We certainly want to organise it again next year and make it an annual event.

“I want to say a special thank you to our parish clerk Maria Smith.

The sporting spectacular went ahead at Kibworth’s outstanding new £45,000 Multi-Use Games Area (MUGA) at Warwick Park.

“This facility only opened a few weeks ago.

“But it’s already proving so popular and it’s going to be a huge asset for everyone across Kibworth,” said Kevin.

“Well done to everyone for coming along and helping to make this a real day to remember.”
