New 200-space car park set to open at Harborough Railway Station

The 200-space extension will boost the number of slots available at the busy mainline station to 500.
The vital new addition has been backed by Steve Jones, chairman of Harborough Rail Users.

“It represents a major improvement on the existing facility.
“It’s excellent news - both for rail commuters and nearby residents.”
He said the current site is often packed out by 8am on weekdays as more and more commuters move into Harborough.

“That means that an increasing number of drivers have been spilling out and parking on streets in and around the station,” said Steve.
“They become a pain for residents, who find it harder to park themselves as their streets get clogged up.
“It’s taken a while to build this new extension since the track was moved out of the way to create the space last May and June.
“But it will be well worth it because it’s going to be a very positive move.”
