'I still enjoy my job just as much as I did when I started' - senior manager celebrates 25 years at Harborough estate agents

A senior manager is celebrating a sparkling 25 years with a leading Market Harborough estate agents.

Jill Griffiths, 62, has worked her way up to become director of residential lettings at Andrew Granger & Co, based on Market Harborough’s High Street.

And she declared that she’s still as motivated and energised now as she was when she started out an impressive quarter of a century ago.

“I can honestly say that I still enjoy the work as much as I did when I first started, although a lot has changed and there are clearly far more rules and regulations now,” said Jill.

“I have both worked with, and met, some fabulous people over the years – and it’s certainly made it all worthwhile.”

Jill joined Andrew Granger & Co in a part-time capacity on May 31, 1995, to help build their rental portfolio.

“At the point I joined the company it was a small office on The Square next to Hobbs the fishmongers consisting of seven members of staff who predominantly dealt with agricultural and residential property sales,” she recalled.

“Within a month I went from working part-time to full-time due to how busy I was - and the lettings department flourished from there.

“We now manage properties for around 1,000 landlords across the East Midlands, making us the one of the largest independent lettings agency in Leicestershire.”

Jill had previously spent many years working in foreign banking in the City of London, commuting from her then home in Arthingworth.

But she had always been interested in and attracted to property.

And Jill had already built up vital experience in the rental industry on a personal level as she had a small portfolio of student lets in Northampton.

She had also bought and renovated several properties so she felt well qualified to join and strengthen the tight-knit team at Andrew Granger & Co.

“In the 25 years that I have been with the company it has grown immeasurably.

“I am proud to have played a part in the opening of the further two offices in Loughborough and Leicester - as well as our move to our current premises in Market Harborough,” said Jill.

“And to witness the growth in all of the services we offer.

“I’m very lucky to have such talented and dedicated staff who have helped me along the way - including the loyal and committed team that I have with me now.”
