Struggling businesses in Harborough forced to close during the latest Covid-19 lockdown are being thrown a crucial new cash lifeline.
They can now apply for urgent support after the Government has given Harborough District Council over £4.5 million to hand out through the Restart Grants Scheme.
Non-essential retail businesses can claim one-off grants of up to £6,000.
And if you are in the hospitality, accommodation, leisure, personal care and gym sectors you can apply for up to £18,000.
The grants are worked out on the rateable value of business premises.
Harborough council has handed out over £30 million of Government cash to help support over 2,000 embattled local businesses since the coronavirus pandemic struck in March last year.
You can apply for help on the council’s website here: https://www.harborough.gov.uk/info/20021/council_information/319/coronavirus_information/15
