Struggling businesses in Harborough forced to close during the latest Covid-19 lockdown are being thrown a crucial new cash lifeline.

They can now apply for urgent support after the Government has given Harborough District Council over £4.5 million to hand out through the Restart Grants Scheme.

Non-essential retail businesses can claim one-off grants of up to £6,000.

And if you are in the hospitality, accommodation, leisure, personal care and gym sectors you can apply for up to £18,000.

The grants are worked out on the rateable value of business premises.
