Here's a glimpse inside the latest small independent business to open in the Harborough district

The owner of a new business in the Harborough district says she is ready for the challenges ahead - and believes more people are keen to support small, independent businesses in these tough times during the coronavirus pandemic.

Paper House opened on August 26 at Pennbury Farm on Stretton Road in Great Glen.

"We’re not sure if it’s brave or bonkers opening a new business in the current climate, but we’re hoping that the new-found love of shopping local and supporting small businesses in a safer, rural setting will continue for a long time!" said owner Kate Foster.

"Paper House is all about paper - fun, beautiful and innovative products for everyone - all ages, all budgets and all occasions."

Kate, from Kibworth, said she has always loved cards and stationery so opening her own shop was only a matter of time.

She added; "Many of our ranges are designed and handmade in the UK - we love supporting other small, independent businesses - and others are from some really creative international companies.

"We buy ethical and environmentally-friendly collections whenever we can - we even have cards made from elephant poo paper!

"We're always on the lookout for new and lovely paper-based products, so if you make, design or distribute products that might fit the bill, please do get in touch."

Paper House is open 10am-4pm Tuesday-Saturday, 10am-3pm Sundays and closed on Mondays (except Bank Holidays).
