A gifted Harborough artist is drawing up plans for the best year of his professional career as he reaches for the stars.

Glenn Badham, 48, of Husbands Bosworth, near Market Harborough, is racing up through the gears as he targets new landmarks this year after a supercharged 2020.

Also a talented ballroom dancer, Glenn said: “I’m thrilled with how the last 12 months have gone and now I’m really looking to kick on.

“The sky is the limit!”

Talking of which he was shortlisted for a wildcard place in the Sky Landscape Artist of the Year TV show last August.

And you’ll be able to see Glenn in action as the popular programme finally airs on Wednesday January 20.

“Look out for the muckiest overalls you have ever seen and you’ll spot me straight away,” grinned Glenn.

His masterpieces have been selected in no less than six open submission competitions and he has now secured London Gallery Representation at London’s award-winning Laura I art gallery.

“I’m also currently showing in a group exhibition on the most prestigious Art website ARTSY called ‘Art and Identity’.

“I am overjoyed and my most recent selection for the Mall Galleries Pastel Society exhibition in London has been the icing on the cake,” said Glenn.

“Amid all the Covid lockdowns these national and international competitions have seen record numbers of entries from artists.

“But it’s not stopped my landscapes from being plucked from the thousands of entries.

“I’ve made the Ty Pawb, Welsh Open, Gaarda Scottish online exhibition, Red Open Rooftop Arts online exhibition, Rugby Open, Flea Circus Magazine and Grey Cube Gallery Online Landscape exhibition.

“And my paintings have reached the second round of the London Art Bienniale by passing 500 Instagram likes for my works.

“I had two very successful one-man shows last autumn.

“They were staged at 27 Derngate, The Charles Rennie Mackintosh house in Northampton, and at Rugby Art Gallery and Museum before the second lockdown.”

A professional artist for 25 years, Glenn’s outstanding work has also just been featured in Devon Life and Live24-SEVEN Warwickshire magazine and will light up the best-selling Coast magazine this spring.

“I’ve had a phenomenal year in 2020 and I can’t wait to get stuck into this year – it really is onwards and upwards,” he said.
