Forget Skeggy or Sunny Hunny- you’ll be able to hit the beach and enjoy all the fun of the fair without leaving Market Harborough this month.

Fancy building a sand castle, tipping back in a deckchair or hopping on an exciting fairground ride?

Then load up the car, round up the kids and head straight to Harborough Beach Fest.

The summertime extravaganza is to be staged at Market Harborough Showground on Gallow Field Road to the north of the town en route to the A6.

The show-stopping spectacular will be held from 2pm-7pm from Tuesday August 25-Friday August 28 and from 11am-10pm from Saturday August 29-Monday August 31.

The seven-day event will feature a huge beach with deckchairs, pop-up café and bar, fairground rides, live dinosaur show, live music, summer market and fireworks.

You can snap up a ticket from as little as £2 while under-16s will get in free.

The action-packed feelgood festival will also get behind the Marie Curie charity – which helps and supports people through terminal illness.

Organisers Fleckney Events are donating 10 per cent of all money generated by entry tickets sold to the excellent cause.

“We have a cracking line-up of musicians over the weekend.

“They include We Tried Kylie (renowned 80s themed performance band), Ministry of Soul performing Motown and Soul hits, Hard Lines – a 4 piece blues rock band – and Matilda Pratt.

“She’s a singer-songwriter from the West Midlands who puts her own spin on covers and also does her original music.

“We’ll also have Georgia Lily, a cover artist for tracks throughout the years from the 60s to present day.

“The bank holiday weekend ends with a spectacular firework show timed to music at 9.30pm each night,” said Fleckney Events.

“The Weekend Price is just £5 for adults and free for children (under 16) per day.

“The use of the beach is included in the ticket price.

“We are also offering a weekend pass which gives you access throughout the whole bank holiday weekend for only £10 per adult.

“An exclusive deck chair seating area is available for £10 per chair for the whole day, guaranteeing you a seat for the live music and fireworks display.

“We are a Covid-19 secure event.

“We will be following the latest Government guidelines and have procedures in place to give you that peace of mind when attending our event.

“This includes temperature testing upon site entry, sanitiser stations, heightened cleaning regimes, ample space for social distancing and track & trace to just name a few.

“We will be working closely with Harborough District Council and other authorities to ensure we are Covid-19 safe.

“Please act responsibly when you are at the event, adhere to social distancing and use the hand sanitation stations provided as frequently as suitable.

“Anyone who repeatedly breaks the rules will be ejected from the event.”
