Funhouse Comedy Club is to return to the town’s rugby union football club in Northampton Road for a night of fun and laughter. The organisation has just won the best small club award at the 2016 Midlands Comedy Awards.

Support comes from the Jonny Awsum, who returned from this summer’s Edinburgh Festival with numerous rave reviews.

Starting out as barman at The Chuckle Club for eight years he then decided to take to the stage. With his guitar and musical parodies he amuses his audiences charming them with his warm and friendly persona, his style of audience participation is second to none.

He has presented for Sky Sports and also starred in several adverts including Cravendale, The Post Office, Experian and even Puntigamer beer in Austria.

Completing the line-up is Stuart Mitchell. After winning The Leicester Comedy Festival New Act of The Year Competition in 2010.

Stuart went on to appear on TV in Frank Skinner’s Opinionated, where he received a standing ovation from the panel members.

His material has been described as both clever and cynical material as well as hilarious and inspirational.

Compere for the night is the amusing and friendly Scott Bennett, runner up in 2014 English Comedian Of The Year competition. He enthrals his audiences with his warm and engaging delivery, a Yorkshire live wire with an undeniable no nonsense logic.
