We have all been to weddings which have added that extra element of drama to an other wise lovely day.
Well Kibworth based Last Minute Theatre is taking the big day to its extreme when someone is murdered in their next production.
The Murder Mystery Night entitled A Shotgun Wedding and is written by Andrew Hull.
The scene is set at a wedding reception and the guests will be portrayed by the audience who will also get a chance to turn detective.
The bride has married her millionaire groom who is twice her age.
The evening takes the form of a play performed on stage) during which time a murder occurs.
After calling the emergency services, the suspects come into the hall and may be questioned by any of the guests who then decide who and how who done it.
A spokesman for Last Minute Theatre said: “Our ‘guests’ are guaranteed an evening of fun and entertainment.
“There will be prizes for the correct and most ingenious answers and a prize for the best dressed guest.
“In lieu of wedding gifts, there will be a wedding raffle’ and bucket collection for the Derbyshire, Leicestershire and Rutland Air Ambulance.
Last Minute Theatre was established more than 12 years ago by founding members who wanted to create some top class entertainment at a price that is still affordable.
The group produces three shows a year and previously performed Red Riding Hood in January.
Performances of A Shotgun take place on Friday May 13 and Saturday May 14 at Kibworth Grammar School Hall.
Doors will open at 7pm with the entertainment starting at 7.30pm.
Tables of six are available but smaller numbers can always be accommodated. There is a but guests are welcome to bring their own food.
