Then Great Bowden Music Fest is the place for you.

Organisers are staging their locally-renowned concert on New Year’s Day by popular demand after it’s gone down a storm for the last two years.

The much-anticipated show will be held at St Peter and St Paul’s Church, Great Bowden, at 3.30pm on New Year’s Day.

The line-up will include a Strauss Waltz, Radetzky's March, Gabriel's Oboe and other favourites, including Elgar’s famous Nimrod from the Enigma Variations.

Music Fest Chairman Tim Blades said: “The concert on New Year’s Day has rapidly become a fixture on the calendar.

“It’s a great way to shake off the cobwebs of Christmas celebrations and make a musical start to the New Year.”

He added: “We are once more taking the theme of ‘A Flavour of Vienna’ and the audience will have the chance to buy a glass of fizz as well.”

Welton’s shop and deli in Great Bowden will be open for lunch and will offer a special pre-concert three-course menu.

Tickets cost £12 and can be booked at Welton’s in Great Bowden or online at www.greatbowdenmusicfest.com/what-s-on (online bookings are subject to an admin charge).
