A much-loved Harborough music festival is set to bring thrilled fans an online extravaganza this weekend.

Great Bowden Music Fest has been forced to scrap this year’s summer festival amid the Covid-19 lockdown.

But organisers have now teamed up with Manchester-based Festival Fresco to give local people two days of fantastic online concerts.

The Festival Fresco is run by leading Harborough musician Vanessa White and her composer friend Natasha Sofla.

The dynamic duo are getting together to stage a series of shows on Saturday May 16 and Sunday May 17.

Many will feature musicians known to Music Fest audiences.

You will find full details on the Music Fest website (www.greatbowdenmusicfest.com).

But look out for Anna Steirud (flute), Lizzie Elliott (cello), Alice and James Flannery (violin and viola) and of course, Melanie Reinhard (piano), Christopher and Vanessa White (violin).

Each concert is 20 minutes long and there will be a mix of live-streamed and pre-recorded performances.

The festival supports talented young musicians as they launch their careers.

More information is available at www.festivalfresco.com

The What's On page will tell you about the concerts and link you through to the YouTube channel.

Vanessa said: “We know it’s not the same as attending a live performance.

“But we hope we can bring some pleasure now and also a flavour of what is to come when the Fest resumes.”
