Garner gathers a double medal haul at the East Midlands event

Amy Garner sprinted to a fantastic bronze and gold medal in the East Midlands Ladies Road Race Championship near Bourne.

After 44 rolling miles Garner was always at the head of the race as it came down to a uphill sprint.

Garner kicked hard in the final 200m to grab third woman and the East Midlands Junior Division title.

In the men’s event Michael Burke raced over 80 miles in warm conditions.

After an unpredictable race Burke finished 27th in a strong field.

Fay and Matt Garner contested the East Midlands Youth Circuit Championships at Harvey Hadden circuit.

The weekend got off to great start as Fay finished 
on the third step of the 
podium in the under-12 girls race, the bronze medal was great reward for her training and recent race performances.

In the under-14 boys race, Matt found the technical course to his liking 
and his cornering skills proved critical to stay in a fast pack.

In the sprint for the line 
he finished a strong 10th place.

Martyn Ludlam (Witham Whs) held on to win the AA Brown Engineering RR as Josh Van Nierop sprinted to fifth (first Junior).

Henry Ingram, enjoying his first competitive season, finished third Junior.

Max Sillifant, Rob Moore, John Ellis, Hans van Nierop and John Ellis ensured club colours were evident close to the front.

Josh van Nierop has enjoyed a successful few days having sprinted to his first senior/junior bunch victory a few days earlier.

The results have seen him move up to become a second category rider.
