B team buzzing after success in the Nelson darts league derby

The Nelson derby saw the B side come out on top, winning 18-9 in their Market Harborough Men’s Darts League contest.

They dominated the pairs, winning 7-2 before victories for Andy Shillcock (180) and Damo Brennan edged them closer to victory.

Ali Mclean stopped the rot for the A side by beating Dave Claffey 2-1, but Jamie Preston’s (180) 3-0 win was enough to secure the victory.

The A side’s Andy Johnson and Dave Simmonds then gained consolation wins over Si Almey and Sean Kelly respectively.

The Nags beat The Bull’s Head 22-5 in what turned out to be a one-sided affair.

Kenny Craig (180) and Colin Bradley put The Bull’s Head 3-0 up, but that proved to be a false dawn as the next six legs in the pairs went to the Harborough side.

The Nags then cleaned up in the singles, winning all six ties.

The victors were Ken Woolnough, Bill Booker, Shane Kennedy, James Moore (152 start), Chris Cooper and Dom Drew.

It was business as usual for The Old Works as they thrashed Desborough Services 25-2.

The Royalist were made to work as they defeated The Stag 19-8.

Desborough Cons visited their Harborough counterparts and came away with a 19-8 win.

It was another good night for The Fox from WIlbarston as they beat Rothwell Cons 14-13.
