Harborough Town are looking to bolster their squad as they prepare to face Cogenhoe United this weekend.

Manager Stuart Spencer has confirmed the club have put in two seven-day approaches for targets as he aims to create further competition for places.

“We’ve got one or two approaches in,” he told The Mail.

“The seven day process is currently ongoing so hopefully we’ll know more soon.

“I think we need to make improvements and feel we need two, three or four in to supplement the squad.”

Spencer is determined to improve upon the 11th-place finish the Bees have secured in the past four United Counties League Premier Division seasons.

“I believe that we need a further reaction if we are going to push forward,” he continued.

“We still need to get two or three bodies into the club if we are going to progress further.

“I’m not going to talk about positions, but if we are going to push on we need that extra bit of quality that the top four or five sides have to make us more competitive.”

Harborough will travel to Compton Park to face 16th-place Cogenhoe United on Saturday (KO 3pm).

The Cooks were edged out 2-1 at highflying Deeping Rangers on Saturday, ending a run of three straight league wins.

And Spencer will not be taking his hosts lightly.

“We’re targeting three points,” he added.

“They’re having a bit of a mini revival, so their position in the table is a little bit false.

“But we have our ambitions as a club so we will go there wanting to win.”

Two early goals saw the Bees beaten 2-0 by Leicester Nirvana at the weekend, Yaegan Kenzie-Gore opening the scoring in the first minute and Shaquille Master doubling the advantage.
