The musical line-up for the second annual Welland Valley Charity Truck Pull has now been finalised, as the day approaches for Medbourne’s ambitious charity event.

Performers on the big stage will include up-and-coming boy band StateSide, whose five members include former England footballer Paul Gascoigne’s son Regan Gascoigne, artists from the charity group Together In Harmony and girl band Sweet Chix from Britain’s Got Talent.

And event organiser Gary Gardner, a Medbourne resident whose day job involves transporting cars all over the country, said: “It’s top entertainment on our big, professional stage – it’s forty feet long.

“There were about 3,000 people at this event last year, and hopefully we can better that this year.”

Last year’s event raised more than £8,000 for deserving causes.

The music festival is just part of the family fun day at Medbourne on Bank Holiday Monday, August 25, from 10am to 7pm.

The centrepiece is the Welland Valley charity truck pull, in which teams of 15 pull an eight-ton truck along a one-mile course.

There is still time for teams of 15 to enter the truck pull.

The Fun Day costs £2 for adults, with children under 14 free. Car parking costs £1.50.
