Warehouse worker Michael Panter from Shoe-String competed in a charity boxing match ‘White Collar Boxing’ to raise money for Cancer
Research.

He took part in eight weeks of preparation to learn the basics of boxing before taking part in the big
fight.

Michael practiced every day in the Shoe-String warehouse by bench pressing boxes of shoe care and deadlifting all the UK manufactured insoles; he even tied together all the fine shoe laces into a skipping rope and worked on his cardio.

“He beat me to smithereens. But I had him in the last round,” he said.

The fight was close but Michael just missed out and all the proceeds all went to Cancer Research.

Michael and Laura from Shoe String’s marketing department are looking at entering XRunner in aid of The RSPCA.
